The Human Resources Directors across the LVAIC community have agreed to host a series of seminars focusing on preparing faculty and staff for retirement. The first of this series took place on Monday, November 13, 2017 at Muhlenberg College.
This event featured David Ellowitch, CFP, a registered representative of Lincoln Financial Advisors Corp., and Dionysius Pappas, Esquire, of Vasiliadis and Associates. Ellowitch is also a graduate of Muhlenberg College. The biographies for the two speakers are available here. The two offered presentations on the details of estate planning for retirement as well as planning for financial security in the retirement process.
After offering their respective presentations, the two fielded questions from the 75+ attendees who were comprised on members of the LVAIC community and their partners.
The goal of this series is to improve faculty and staff retirement readiness through health and financial planning sessions as well as through peer networking. Each event in this series will focus on a specific topic in the retirement process and allow faculty, staff, and partners on the LVAIC campuses to learn, reflect, and grow with their peer network within the LVAIC community.
LVAIC will host a total of four retirement seminars throughout the 2017-2018 academic year. The next retirement seminar will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Lafayette College focusing on the emotional transitions of retirement. The remaining dates are to be determined, but future topics will include Healthcare and Long-Term Care and Active Living Options.
