Minor and Evening Certificate Program:

Introduction

Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that provides theoretical models with which to examine the lives, perspectives, and contributions of women. The field examines the diversity of experience as related to categories of difference including race and social class. Women's Studies courses stress an interactive pedagogy that accommodates a variety of learning styles.

The academic field and pedagogy of Women's Studies are particularly relevant to adult learners, female or male, most of whom bring to their courses a maturity and motivation growing out of knowledge of the world of work and relationships.

The Women's Studies Minor complements many undergraduate majors.

The Women's Studies Certificate is valuable for a variety of audiences including: public school teachers seeking In-Service credits, employees in business, and professionals in Human Resources Management, Human Services, and Health Care.
