About LVAIC Business Services
Business Services is a shared resource that acts on behalf of the members of LVAIC. LVAIC does not purchase any goods directly on behalf of the members, but rather, works in conjunction with members and suppliers to establish mutually beneficial agreements.
LVAIC works in cooperation with the member colleges to identify goods and services where it makes sense to purchase items collectively to leverage our purchasing power. This is accomplished by managing the successful relationships with our existing preferred suppliers, while exploring new suppliers that can provide improved value while lowering the overall cost of products and services at our colleges. By utilizing LVAIC-preferred supply agreements, members are assured of doing business with suppliers that offer competitive pricing, consistent service and excellent performance.
LVAIC Business Services delivers greater buying power. Working in cooperation with a focused group of LVAIC purchasing directors, Business Services provides member colleges greater cost savings and improved operational efficiencies. So much so, that LVAIC has been recognized by peer consortia as a national model for group purchasing and business services in higher education.
LVAIC regularly facilitates forums for sharing best practices, exploring new opportunities, and group training sessions. Its new and existing programs account for approximately $30 million annually in joint purchasing through shared contracts.
- Since 2001, more than $37 million in cost-avoidance savings can be attributed to LVAIC contracts. Over the past decade, collaborative spending has increased significantly.
- The current portfolio includes approximately 40 active agreements.
- The estimated impact upon the economic vitality of the Lehigh Valley is more than $900 million.
We are not currently accepting new proposals or solicitations for preferred suppliers.

All suppliers are expected, as a professional courtesy, to make an appointment to meet with Business Services staff: this insures that adequate time is available for discussion and that personnel are available to meet.
